Traditional Music Showcases
Our musicians revive the rhythms of Nigeria’s ethnic groups—ogalá (talking drums), ekwe and ogene (metal gong) ensembles—through master-apprentice concerts in each zone. These showcases preserve endangered repertoires and foster intergenerational learning, ensuring that folk songs remain vibrant in contemporary performance.
Rhythms of West Africa Festival
Every year, NTN presents “Rhythms of West Africa,” a pan-regional music and dance festival that celebrates cross-border sounds. Featuring guest artistes from Ghana, Côte d’Ivoire and beyond, the festival blends local traditions with new compositions, stimulating cultural exchange and tourism.
Sounds of Royal Courts & Orchestra
Our Traditional Nigeria Orchestra brings court-music to life with commissioned pieces that evoke royal patronage and heritage. Coupled with “Sounds of Royal Courts,” these concerts spotlight classical arrangements inspired by pre-colonial courts, performed by our chamber musicians and guest soloists.
